Navigating Manhattan is simple as long as you understand the grid, the transit system and have a good map or two. (Our NYMap is the best for street and sight location. The reach of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s subway and bus system is quite extensive and can shuttle you to within a few blocks of any destination on the island. For more private travel one can hail a taxi or rent a limousine.

Times Square Visitor Center, 1560 Broadway (betw. W.46th and W.47th Sts.) www.timessquarebid.org. Open 8am to 8 pm, seven days a week. Located in the renovated landmark Embassy Theater.
